“I hired Kimberly for my wedding makeup/hair in April 2015 and for makeup/hair services for my mom, sister (matron of honor), and 1 bridesmaid. She brought a different makeup artist to work on my mom, sister, and bridesmaid on the wedding day and the lady did a great job, and re-did my mom’s eye makeup without question when my mom asked her to. Kimberly is very personable and down-to-earth. I price-hunted a lot for wedding hair/makeup services and turned out that Kimberly was probably the least expensive I found, and luckily, she also does fantastic work—check out her website! Her trial fee is also inexpensive, which I’m so appreciative of because I think it’s just plain wrong to charge brides $200+ for a trial, which I came across several times when calling around for prices. She doesn’t rush and has a great eye, which is great since I didn’t give her much direction (ie. natural looking makeup and vintage-y style hair). I also consulted Kimberly on flowers, but ended up not hiring her for flowers due to cost savings—a family friend was able to provide table arrangements at a fantastic price and I bought fabric bouquets from Etsy.”

“Kimberly was very professional from start to finish, and her work quality was exceptional. I had been planning my Bay Area wedding from Alaska, so any chance of a face to face consultation was slim. However, during a preliminary phone conference, she was able to focus my ideas into a cohesive design for my wedding. It was then that I knew I wanted Bings Design. When it came down to seeing the final product on the day of our wedding, my husband and I were speechless. Since the church was already adorned with beautiful spring arrangements, we only needed centerpieces for the reception. The theme of the wedding was somewhat vintage inspired, so the tall arrangements had pearls cascading around them. The low arrangements also had smaller drapes of pearls, which created an elegant touch to the classic theme. Kimberly had also applied my makeup and gave me a 1920s Hollywood glam inspired hair style. The entire look was picture perfect, and I can’t imagine having it any other way.”

Our wedding was outdoors, and she designed a beautiful hanging arrangement with crystals to go on the canopy, as well as aisle arrangements that were pretty. The bridal bouquet was romantic with exactly the colors and types of flowers I wanted. Kimberly loaned us some of her own accessories for the table arrangements that fit perfectly and brought the whole theme together. “Kimberly is truly the best!! Kimberly did my hair and makeup and all the flowers for our wedding last month and words can’t say how wonderful she is. We planned our CA wedding from the East Coast and were only able to make one trip out for planning so everything else had to be done over email and phone. Kimberly replied to all of my emails (and there were a LOT) promptly and professionally. When I was worried or stressed she always made me feel better and this was before we had even met!! I think the other truly remarkable thing about Kimberly is that she works very hard to be sure she understands exactly what you want. If you are like me, I bet you can already think of some vague statements you have made about what you want “rustic, casual elegance” etc. etc. and Kimberly will reply with questions to clarify what you really mean, which really helps you to clarify what you want too and make sure you get it. Kimberly also helps you work within your budget and is very upfront about costs and how changes you are considering would affect your final cost.

We flew out to CA for my hair and makeup trial about one month before our wedding and meeting Kimberly was even better than expected. She is just great. Someone you want to have around making you feel calm and beautiful on your wedding day! I loved my hair and makeup on the trial day and loved it even more on the day of the wedding! I asked for a few small changes to what had been done in the trial for makeup and Kimberly executed them perfectly.

The flowers: The flowers that Kimberly put together for our receptions and the bridal party were incredible!! The room was so beautiful - it was exactly what I had imagined. I wanted a lot of color (oranges, purples and yellows) and something that kind of looked casual and rustic, but still impressive. Kimberly did this perfectly. I also wanted a colorful bouquet with a more free flowing shape and it was just gorgeous. Exactly what I had envisioned. I also have to mention the corsage that Kimberly did for my Mom - it was like nothing I have ever seen. My Mom wanted something very non-traditional, kind of a modern art look instead of traditional flowers on the arm and the corsage that Kimberly made was amazing. It was mostly greens/small flowers and a few larger flowers, but was still super feminine without being so floral. My Mom LOVED it and so did I.

For us Kimberly truly went above and beyond. In addition to hair, makeup and flowers she did our favors, which she cleverly made into place cards as well. It was so great having her help with all the aspects of our wedding. I can’t imagine that any other florist would help with all of the details that Kimberly thought about. And on top of all this Kimberly is SO EASY TO WORK WITH! She was very responsive to “my vision” of the day and made it happen. She is truly a gem.”

She arrived at my place the morning of my wedding with two assistants. I absolutely loved the bouquets! They were exactly spot on what I had envisioned! I’m giving her 4 stars instead of 5 because my bridesmaids weren’t too thrilled with her assistants’ work on their hair. Tip to future brides: make sure you know who will be doing bridesmaids hair/makeup ahead of time if you have a big group or semi-big group of girls. I hadn’t given this much thought since I had only met Kimberly and it was only for makeup.
